Keep The Change

When I made the Snap Happy Wallet called Keep The Change I found parts that really needed clarification. I wrote a note to the designers with the discrepancies that I found. I am not sure if they made the changes so in this post I will tell you what I did.

It's a fun wallet to make and once you have my tips you will find it a 'snap' to sew. The first thing is the pattern is not even. Take each pattern piece, fold in half to make sure the pieces are drawn the same.

5/8" metal carpenters measuring tape - you won't find this size. A 3/4" tape works fine.

Interfacing:
I used Bosal 300 interfacing and interfaced ALL the pieces. With this incredible interfacing you will not have too must stiffness and the finished wallet will be much more firm.

Making the Outside Casing:
This is where I could not really understand where to put the casing. The drawing shows the casing centered on the outside wallet. I would suggest you make the Back Pocket piece first. This piece has the 'other side' of the tape measure. Once you make this piece, lay it on the outside wallet piece to find the correct placement of the casing. It will actually be off center.

Making the Wristlet:
Positioning this handle is not right. You don't want this in your flap but on the bag instead. Position the handle on the body of the wallet. I put it directly under my casing, on the body.

Enjoy!
